Chocolate_Chip_Walnut_Cookie.jpgSenior Junior gave me this yummy Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie recipe about 8 or 9 years ago.  He stopped by yesterday right before he was leaving for a vacation and asked if I had shared his cookie recipe with all of you.  Well, let me tell you.

First of all, if you’re not familiar with Senior Junior, he’s the good friend who gave me his favorite recipe for Pineapple Chiffon Cake.  But moving on, I became so bedazzled by his appearance that I almost couldn’t remember what folder it was in.

And why might that be?  It’s because Senior Junior was wearing a mink coat and hat that I know had to have set him back about 20 big ones!  I almost fell on the floor!  What the heck?  He merely looked at me and said, “Hey, you only live once.”  Live once?  The man is in his late eighties if he’s a day.  Where’s he going in all that fur at his age?  He can’t even remember where he’s going!  But I remember and I’ll tell you… he’s on his way to Palm Beach.  Go figure.

I can eat 62 of these in less than five minutes.  Or maybe it’s 26.  It might be only 6.  More likely it’s 2.  All I know for sure is that it’s a pretty good cookie that’s great for dunking.

You can dunk them in your coffee, or your whole white milk, or your chocolate milk, or your skim milk, or your lactose free milk, or your fresh milk from the cow.  Yuck!  Don’t dunk them in the fresh milk from the cow!  It will be pretty awful.  The cookies won’t be yummy anymore.  Take my word for it, just stick with the stuff from the store.  (Photo: Courtesy of Jasmine Tan)

Happy New Year Everyone!

I wish you happiness, joy, peace and prosperity.

I also wish you great joy in your kitchen and I’ll do my very best to help you make each meal a celebration.

My first recipe of the year will be a delicious Lemon Sugar Cookie.  I haven’t made these in quite a while but I can still remember the sweet and buttery richness of these rather ordinary looking cookies coming out of my mom’s oven.

This recipe for Orange Cranberry Walnut cookies is absolutely delicious!  I do quite a bit of cookie baking and always find others to share them with.  If a cookie is requested more than twice, I just send the recipe along with the next batch.  These are a favorite of many.  I hope you’ll add this one to your recipe box of favorites.

I make these scrumptious, chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies several times a year and send them to a good friend who seems to have an insatiable sweet tooth, especially when it comes to Oatmeal Raisin cookies.  She says that she loves to eat about six of them with a mug of milk.  That’s right… a mug.  She says that she uses a mug because it has a wider mouth and she can stick the cookie in the mug without any effort.  Without any effort?  Why doesn’t she just crumble up the 6 cookies into the mug of milk and drink the cookie milk?  How much effort is that?
