I happen to love celery… especially Celery Appetizers.  It doesn’t matter if it’s raw or cooked, but raw is always better.  There’s something about the crunchiness that makes it really satisfying.  You know, like popcorn.  Well, maybe not.  It’s more like having a mouth full of potato chips.  Well, maybe not exactly.  Okay, I’ve got it!  It’s like chewing on a raw carrot.  Naw… maybe it’s more like chewing two radishes on each side of your mouth at the same time.  No… that’s not it either.  Hey! What the heck am I thinking about?  It’s exactly like biting into a delicious piece of celery!

This Spicy Cranberry Chutney recipe (of sorts), has been floating around for as long as I can remember.  I don’t remember how many times we’ve changed it over the years, but it’s still one of the best recipes for cranberry (something or other) that I’ve ever tasted.

This is my number one recipe for homemade Chinese Hot-And-Sour Soup  although I can’t take credit for it.  Ruth, who is the owner of a catering company in Florida, gave it to me about a year or so ago. I think that it’s wonderfully aromatic and tasty. 

I’ve eaten hot-and-sour soup in five star restaurants and no star restaurants and you know what?  It doesn’t make a bit of difference where you eat it; it just depends on the chef’s recipe and whether or not he or she will take the time to do the prep work.

My late Aunt Nancy used to make quite a few Gingerbread Cakes every year. Not only would she share them with everyone that was taller than four feet, but she’d also make the most adorable little gingerbread cakes for the little ones.  I can still remember the spongy little shapes that tasted oh so good!
